Heifer International Fundraiser

Heifer International is one of my favorite organizations, based on the idea that the best way to help people is to let them help first themselves, then their neighbors.

Last spring, Team LRK’s fundraising efforts raised over $12,000 for Heifer International, which was an incredible effort and has helped many people in need. Thank you to everyone who donated, both during the Fifteen Weeks of Bees and afterward.

Because our efforts during 2009 were so successful, we have decided to do a similar fundraiser for this spring’s Twenty Weeks of Buzz to celebrate the publication of the tenth Mary Russell book, The God of the Hive.

Just donate $60 or more to the Team LRK Heifer International page by Sunday, May 16, 2009 for your chance at having a character in the next Holmes and Russell novel named after you.

In addition, the first fifty people to donate $60 or more will receive a small edition of last year’s “A Venomous Death” broadside. (Both prizes will include donations made on or after December 27, 2009, when the Twenty Weeks of Buzz began.)
