Here are some photos of insects a little less scary than the cicadas; these monarchs were photographed at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI in fall, 2005. Enjoy!

Oooo, I'm liking those much better! Very pretty!

Do we have directions or something on how to post pix? (just in case I ever have a picture worth posting!)

Karen, if you go to the full posting box (the ones with all the smilies to the right), then you can scroll down and under "Additional Options," it says "Attach files." Under that, there is a button that says "manage attachments." Click on that and follow the directions. If your image is too big for an attachment, you may have to resize it (if you need help with that, just holler).

Wow--more National Geographic-worthy pictures! </impressed> When I'm behind the camera, I'm just happy if I can snap a picture where I don't cut the top of someone's head off.

Thanks, again! I have to admit that the freedom (from the expense of film and processing) of digital photography allows one to eventually capture some decent shots through sheer numbers, given some patience and persistence. I guess, like anything else, practice makes perfect (and I've been practicing for 40 years!):) :)
