I just joined a Russell fan club on Facebook and they are discussing who caused the balcony to collapse in the bazaar. I remember Thomas Goodheart saying that he had overhead a "woman talking about Sherlock Holmes" and that this is what inspired his costume choice, but before Holmes could questions him further, Russell brought him back on point. The story never came back around. I wonder if this is setting up for a future plot or did I just miss the "ta-da" scene entirely?

Smurrey...have you read LOCK? Much is answered there, but the specifics of the balcony collapsing are not.

Locked Rooms?I have read it, but it is the only one of the series that I haven't re-read b/c I cannot find my copy. I don't remember if I've loaned it out or if it is just at the bottom of one of my stacks. I generally keep authors together though... So, the who and why IS answered in LOCK?

As I said, the specifics of the balcony are left a bit up in the air, but Holmes does speculate: "Then we get to Aden, where she gets off -- possibly having arranged with an associate to meet her there and set up a booby-trap" LOCK Chapter 21.
