My name is Elizabeth.

I'm a philosophy professor at a small liberal arts college (since 1992). I teach ethics, logic, feminism, and environmental philosophy.

I read, of course, but have also been known to knit and quilt.

Someone loaned me The Bee Keeper's Apprentice at the beginning of last summer and I have read every novel LRK has written since -- except for the one I just learned she wrote under a pseudonym. Going to have to pick that up ASAP.

Hi, Elizabeth and welcome to the VBC! Cool avatar you've got there. BTW, you might stop by the "hospitality suite" (http://laurierking.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=12#post1) thread to see some of the other new members. You'll find some fellow academics there.

You're in for a treat--Califia's Daughters is just excellent. I'm really looking forward to that being a monthly selection. Isn't it great to find a book by a favorite author that you've never read before? I keep hoping they'll find a long-lost Jane Austen manuscript in someone's closet.
