It's that time of year to be nice to those who we loath, break out the eggnog and apple cider, listen to carols and of course have a Christmas tree (mine went up 11/25 on my birthday).
It's the season for donating to charity and buying gifts for everyone you know, but what about what you want? Please post what you would like for Christmas deep down in your heart. It doesn't have to be something material, just something that you truly wish for.

Interesting, Kiyomi, and really not that difficult for me. In the year of my 60th birthday I have been through some serious health issues with my elderly parent and the loss of several close friends due to sudden illness and just plain old age.
I would wish for the good health of and more time with all those I know and love. A wish I will extend to all those in the Internet communities I visit daily.
Happy Holidays everyone.

My wish may sound hokey, but I would be wonderfully happy if I could be assured that our two daughters would have productive, fulfilling, unselfish, happy lives.

I hear you there! My step-children are 6 and 8 years younger than me respectively their parents married early in life so my husband and I are only 18 years appart. The girl I am sure will be all that and more when she graduates college this spring. She already has more work than she can shake a stick at and is kind to the point of fault, if anything she needs to loosen up a little and enjoy more things herself instead of doing so much for others(as faults go though that is not a bad one to have). My step-son on the other hand I worry about a lot even though he is older as he is less settled and responsible. Even when they are only yours by marriage kids are important!

I am in the midst of a battle for my daughter's health and my lid has come off, as Ms. King mentioned in the HT thread. I wish for my precious daughter's healing. And any of you who are praying folk, your prayers would be coveted.
Peace,
Jen D.

I think that what I would wish for is mundane, but since I put up all the decorations and buy all the presents then wrap them all and put them out just so on Christmas eve, I would like to have the feeling of excitement and pure joy of waking up that morning full of anticipation and happiness as the wrappers fly every which way.
For now I just borrow some of my daughter's pleasure each Christmas morning.

You know, I'm actually quite happy this year compared to previous years; things have been going pretty smoothly. So I think I will wish for that to continue.
And my driver's license. I wish I might actually get that accomplished before my quarter century birthday:rolleyes:

I would dearly love more time - time to spend with my husband, time to have fun with my children, time to be creative and to read, and time to see my friends and relatives. There's too much compromise on all of these things at the moment unfortunately.

Don't feel too bad. I only got mine at almost 22 when I had to in order to work at URC (5+ hours of trains and geting someone to drop me off and pick me up everyday was too expensive/rediculous when it was only a 1hr drive each way. If you don't need a liscene why get one? They are expensive and so are cars!

I fully agree, which is why I don't have one yet;) However, I am finding that, for some reason, many employers frown upon their potential employees not being able to drive. Perhaps it is just a California thing, given our driving culture? Or it could be that I am an engineer and there is an assumption of travel that goes with that type of work? Who knows.

All I want for Christmas is to get into medical school, preferably UW. Okay, application process hasn't started yet, I'm wishing ahead for next Christmas.

My guess would be a little of both. Most communities in CA are far from where people work and public transportation is not very efficient in most areas.

I would wish for my Mum's health to improve, more time to see my lovely boyfriend and...maybe a car because Public Transport is shocking :) Other than that just a happy peaceful Christmas would be nice. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and health and happiness to all those you love and care about at Christmas and always :) :) @>>----- (a rose - kind of)

*sigh* So true. And it's only going to get worse...the governator just moved $1.2 billion from transportation to the general fund this year.:(
