Hi, all! <Waves> I'm going to be out of reach of the internet until Sunday evening, so y'all carry on as usual and make any new posters (other than spammers) feel welcome, as you always do. :)
And while I'm at the podium, I'll say thanks to everybody for making the VBC such a great place to be. Y'all rock!

I'm back! And we didn't even get spammed while I was gone--yay!
The kids and I attended an annual family retreat sponsored by my hometown church. Lots of my family went and the cousins had a great time hiking, playing and doing sing-alongs. We've done this event for several years, and it was a good time, as always. It's nice to be back home, though. :)

What fun that must be. It's good to get away for a bit and shake out the cobwebs, but oh so good to return home. Glad to have you back. :D

That sounds great! My mum's church used to do that around labor day every year and it was lots of fun!

Thankee, all! It *was* a nice getaway, although I'm not sure I'll ever get all the clothes, sleeping bags, blankets, etc. all washed and put away. And some of it is going to need more than one pass through the washer due to a highly unfortunate encounter with roasted marshmallow goo.

Ug, no good. So sorry, Sheri:(
Lemon Joy dish soap says my mother. Works way better than the medicated shampoo.

Sorry, Sheri--what a pain in the bazooka! :( Lice is a huge problem here--there are often multiple outbreaks a year in our school system. I've heard all kinds of home remedies. Some of them have involved apple vinegar or mayonnaise(?) applied to the hair and kept under a wrap all day. I'm just hoping that particular critter stays away from our household.
Vinegar and water solution is a terrific cleanser! I once gave my sister a book on 1001 uses of vinegar or something to that effect, and it wound up being one of her favorite books. You can also find that kind of info online (http://www.vinegartips.com/).

Roasted Marshmellows! I love them when the outside is all crisp and golden brown. Yum!
