(not sure where this should be posted so moderators feel free to move it around), but I cannot find THE MOOR in mass market paperback in any bookstore. I am the anal retentive type and have to have all my books in series be the same size. I have searched all the local places and when I went into a small bookstore run by friends they told me it was currently out of print! How does this happen to a book in the middle of a series and is LRK aware of this? I have found a copy at half.com so I will finally be in possession of it, but thought I should give others a heads up.

If you go to:
www.bookfinder.com
and search for "The Moor" by Laurie R. King, you will find many copies for sale starting around $4 (assuming you are in the States).
I have ordered many used books through them (lots of book sellers grouped together) and they are excellent.
Good luck.

I finally purchased the larger and just moved on. --Alice

That's just what I was going to mention. And Laurie said a while back when those new covers were released that the first four books in the series are owned by a different publisher? So the rest of the series isn't going to be reissued in a similar format, which is sad because the new covers are really pretty.

I just want to make it clear that I want Laurie to make as much money as possible from the sale of her books. So if MOOR is out there new, please try and get that one! Perhaps all the MOORs are really sold out though.
But, if the book is only available secondhand and that is the only way to read it....my source given above is a good one.
After all, when one of Laurie's books is sold to a library, she only makes money on the initial sale, not for each reader. (Although, maybe she SHOULD! :D

Picador bought the rights to the first four Russells and has only put them out in trade paper so far. And the Bantam mm copies have evidently been sold out. If you're really keen on the mm format, you'll probably need to do the used-book thing. Sorry!
I think I'm about to shift over from mm paperbacks, at least in part, to ebooks on my iphone--I really like reading on it. Here is the favorably priced ebook of The Moor (http://www.ereader.com/servlet/mw?t=book&bi=5196&si=59) on ereader.com, for instance (it wasn't listed on mobipocket, another popular ebook format).
