Strawberry Curls

Here are some pictures from the Letters of Mary dinner we held Thursday evening. Laurie and Vicki were kind enough to join us for part of the dinner. The picture take on the stairs shows all who attended the dinner.

I'm particularly fond on this first picture because I call it the long and the short of things. Next is a picture in the then empty room before the "Do The Strand" panel at 8:30AM on Sat. It was the discussion of Sherlock Holmes as the arch-typical hero and with Laurie and Peter Blau (a renown Sherlockian and member of the BSI) on the panel so it was not to be missed. Merrily, Marjorie and I arrived very early to stake out the front row. We used two VBC totes and a LOM tote (all autographed by Laurie and as such prized possessions) to hold the row.
The last two pictures were taken at the Sat. night dinner for all of the Laurieverse (as Vicki is calling it) fans. Laurie was given some bee pins on behalf of all the members of the VBC and Vicki received a little box depicting tea being served.
Most of the shots I took during panels were just too poor in quality. My camera was acting up and finally died and I was trying not to use a flash as that seemed so rude when someone was trying to think and speak. Anyway that is why I haven't put any of them up. --Alice

Wonderful pictures, Alice!!! They portrayed the atmosphere of the gathering very nicely! I, too, loved the long and the short of it (although I have to say, Vicki is a giant in her field:)!) Thank you for sharing!!!
John.

John. Thanks, John. I so agree about Vicki. She was, is, and will (no doubt) continue to be a dynamo. It made me tired just thinking of everything she did at the convention...everything she continues to do. Her fingers were flying as she live posted the panels, still don't know how she did it, amazing. --Alice

Great pics, one doesn't want to seem to paparazzi but does like to collect memories.
