While we were in Columbus, Ohio for the holidays, visiting my in-laws, we spent an evening at the Columbus Zoo, enjoying their wonderful Christmas lights display throughout the grounds. Unfortunately, still photos couldn't capture the lights around the lake pulsating and changing in response to the music when they played a couple Christmas tunes on the half-hour. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful display, and the weather even cooperated (dry and 30's):)!
Hope you enjoy!

Wow, John, they are amazing! I can't believe you captured them so well. I need some lessons form you, I think! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, John. What a wonderful display! I wonder what the animals make of it all. Probably they're inured to bizarre human customs.

Thank you, Millie and Pat! Many of the animals were inside for a long winter's nap; hopefully, they weren't dreaming of multi-colored lights:)!

Thanks again for allowing us to see what you see, John. I especially liked the dragonfly's.

The lights are lovely, John. Thanks for sharing! And your pictures make up for not seeing them at the Columbia, SC zoo this year. Do many zoos do lights? It seemed from the number of people attending that the zoo can make a great deal of revenue from such an event.

John, as usual the photos are stunning. Thank you so much for sharing them. They brightened my day :) (and believe me it needed some brightening. LOL) --Alice

Thank you, Wanda! Two of the four dragonflies had alternating lights that gave the impression of flapping wings but the stills don't quite capture that!

Thanks, Karen! I know of several northern zoos that have lights festivals at the holidays, and they do indeed bring in a lot of folks (and their money!) that wouldn't otherwise be there during the winter!

Thank you, Sheri! You have me beat; our tree is still up and I still love just sitting back and gazing at it late at night with the room lights out. However, all good things must come to an end, and its end is nigh!

Thank you, Alice! I'm glad that they brightened your day and I hope that the situations in your life conspire to gradually turn things sunny again!

My best to you all!
John.

Oh, these are pretty, John! I really like the ones with the water and the leaning-tower-of-boat. What a nice evening it must of been.
