For those of you who aren't on RUSS-L, I thought I'd post this cool message that appeared over there yesterday:

Last night, my sister (a Sherlockian) and I (a Russellian) attended a
lecture on The Hound of the Baskervilles. I wore my RUSS-L t-shirt,
but nobody came up and gave me the secret handshake.

Maureen Corrigan discussed the book as literature.

Mary Ellen O'Toole, an FBI profiler, discussed Holmes management of the case. As we might expect, Holmes used techniques which might have been unusual for his time but are current practice at the FBI. She particularly approved of his using all the evidence from the crime
scene, and using both inductive and deductive logic.

During the Q&A period, someone asked about the Mary Russell books, and Maureen said she likes them, as they don't dumb down Holmes in this new situation of partnership and marriage.

Thanks to Bill for the report and for allowing us to repost it over here in the VBC!

By the way--where can one get a RUSS-L t-shirt? I seem to recall that there was a cafepress store, but I can't find it.
