Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom (and their interactions) tickle me and remind me of Russell and Holmes and how they act with one another. Never mind the Sara/Grissom romance (that sadly didn't work out), but Sara once tells Grissom very sarcastically, after he bugs her rather rudely to stop focussing on a victim in a vegetative state, "I wish I was like you, Grissom. I wish I didn't feel anything," and turns on her heel.
Any thoughts?

Hm, there are definitely certain similarities! All brilliant, all focusing on the mind...and come to think of it, both Sara and Russell are tall and thin, though Russell's taller. Holmes and Grissom are both tops in their respective fields, even legendary, and both pairs did share similar mentor/student relationships at one point. Sara even lost her family to violence, though in quite a different manner.

The Sara/Grissom romance DID work out, though--they've been together at least a season. :D

Now that you mention it, indeed it has bares certain similarities  I wonder how on Earth I didn't noticed it before, especially that Las Vegas series is my favourite... I wouldn't call that relationship "being together" - CSI couple were further apart from themselves that any other couple I've ever heard of - but it may change soon, Grissom suddenly became very sentimental (we're right now in the middle of season 7, right after Mike Keppler's death).

CSI had one truly brilliant episode, Holmes-connected: the one in which Greg passes his final investigator test. The case is pretty crazy, about four people who created tiny Holmes reenactment society thingy. I bet Holmes would solve that case in less than minute - poor Greg struggled for a whole episode - but it was still great.

Oh, that was a terrific episode...I loved it! Not only a good story but great character interaction. Heh, when I finally read "The Art of Detection" I kept thinking of that one.

(Did you miss the last scene of the season 6 finale? They're quite definitely together there...)
