Weather has been nice so I have taken up riding again, so far not hit by cars so that is a good thing:rolleyes: This is a more rural route so not terribly busy with on and off traffic but the occasional dump truck will try and edge me off now and again. Plenty of horses and the one llama farm to see and hawks flying overhead. Camera phone doesn't catch hawks so well. This picture is of my turn-around point and that is the road I ride on, nearly straight shot to my house which is six miles distant where the road tops off.

And the good thing is that those seagulls didn't follow you! :D lol

I loved Utah, or what I saw of it. Arches, Canyonlands, Upheaval Dome. Cool stuff! I think it would be an interesting place to live.

What kind of bike do you have?

I have a simple comfort mountain bike, something that lets me ride in relative comfort with the occasional off road foray. I grew up in southern Utah and prefer its scenery but it is not to bad in the north.

Someday I hope to make it to an author event and post those pictures but in the meantime I hope the scenery pictures add a bit of interest. :)

The seat is the large comfort seat plus for the long rides I have bike shorts that have a chamois built in for the sit-upon and that helps a lot!;)
Bike seats are replaceable or there are also slip on padded seats that go over an existing bike seat.

Is the seat on it comfortable? I have a 10 speed and the seat is so narrow. If I take up riding again I want something that won't punish my pelvis.

You can easily change out your seat to something with a bit more padding. I had to replace my seat and post a few months ago (some punk kids ran through our apartment complex and removed all the bike seats that weren't locked down..grrrr:mad:) and the seat was only about $30...a good investment, I'd say;) Or, yeah, bike shorts/pants are generally padded and help a lot too.

Linda - it's worth going to a really reputable bicycle dealer to buy bikes, particularly if you have some issues like scoliosis. They will work with you to find the best bike for what you have in mind and the seat that will fit you best. Good luck with it! I can recommend dealers in Central NJ, and probably get references for SC as my brother used to ride competitively down there. The rest of the country, anyone else want to jump in?
