John, all your pictures are spectacular and bringing back a trip to D.C. I made nineteen years ago with my son and some other moms and kids. This memorial had me in tears as I found the names of boys (for they were just that) that I attended high school with on the wall. Explaining all that to a ten year old was very difficult, but a good lesson on the consequences of war.

It's a very sobering experience, indeed, Alice. My college days were in the last years of the war and there were names there from my high school.

I have always found this memorial very moving. To remember a name, and to remember every name, is all we have to offer individuals lost in war, except to care for families left in need. To all of them we owe every effort to bring peace and an end to killing.
