I'm going to try to upload some pictures we took at 221b Baker Street a few weeks ago. I may have to break this up into several posts. We'll see.

Great pictures, Nikki. They brought back some good memories from our visit back in 2007. The museum store, next door, was a stop on this year's trip, but we didn't do the museum again. :D:D:D

The store was better than the museum in some aspects. ;) Oh, and the last picture is one I wouldn't have had if not for my pal Karen Watson. We were leaving the room when she said, "Look at that! Holmes had a potty chair." So, of course, I had to get a picture of it.

Thanks from me as well, Nikki, for the pictures. I think I would go back (went in 2005) and also drop some serious new pence in the shop. I'm not sure there was a commode in 2005 -- not a fictional note there! The waxworks figures were a bit on the creepy side, which you captured very nicely. Some folks have created the 221b sittingroom as their living room; I now have a vague (very vague) ambition to have a killer dollhouse which reproduces all the floors of that Museum. (but I'd make up the contents myself from the Canon).:D Meredith

LOL, somehow I never thought of Holmes in quite that light.
Thanks for the great pictures. We're hopefully planning another Christmas in London with my sister in 2011, so I'll out this on my visit-list!

Haha! Trying to convice my parents that England would make a lovely summer vacation next year, I'll be sure to mentions this.

Well, if ya gotta go, ya gotta go!

Re Holmes' potty chair, heck I'd take that over a chamber pot any day, and certainly over trooping down those 17 stairs, through the kitchen, and out the back to the outdoor facilities in winter.:eek:

Thanks for posting the photos! My husband works near there and I walk by fairly frequently, but haven't been inside for years. When we took the tour there were no mannequins; can any other visitors from long ago remember them or are they new? Maybe they hiding from us. :)
I agree about the shop: much better than the museum itself. Has anyone been to the ACD collection at the Marylebone Library? I feel an urge to poke around ...
