In describing the book formerly known as The Green Man, Laurie mentions that one of the things it will be about is Robert Goodman aka the Green Man. I feel that I should know Robert Goodman, but I can't find a previous reference. Has there been one? Is it another alias for Haydn, Brothers?

I don't recall a Robert Goodman, although it's very close to Thomas Goodheart. Laurie's character names sometimes *tend* to be illustrative of their character (ie Rae Newborn), so if I had to make a bet, I'd say Goodman would not be an alias of Brothers. I'm envisioning a sort of Dickon-like character from The Secret Garden, except grown-up, wilder and more withdrawn from society. We shall see.... :D

I thought first of Thomas Goodheart. Evidently Robert Goodman is someone we have not yet met.

From the little bits and pieces of info Laurie's been letting out about The Novel Formerly Known as GMAN, he sounds like he'll be an interesting addition to expanding pantheon of LRK characters. Some good 'uns in the pantheon--even the ones with small roles--like Beatrice from FOOL and the wise old denizen of Chinatown from LOCK--I kind of wonder what he'd think of Brother Erasmus from FOOL. I'd like to see some of these characters in the same room. Crikey--now that could be the start of some interesting fanfic!

I just assumed that Robert Goodman is a take off on "Robin Goodfellow," otherwise known as Puck.

An interesting observation, Roxanne.
Vicki, I too would love to hear the feng shui expert's observations about Brother Erasmus.

Aw, Dickon! I loved him. "We'll be parted, you and I. But remembrance will keep us friends." So prophetic. I love him. I hope you're right, Vicki!
Although, while hazarding a guess is loads of fun, I'm sure whatever LRK has cooked up will blast our ideas out of the water!
