I'm going to the Newcastle event on 9th September - are there any others planning on going? As I have to rush away afterwards, I'm going to be arriving in Newcastle at about 4.30pm if anyone wants to meet up before the event. I don't know the area, so any suggestions for a venue would be good!

Lookee at the awesome reportage (http://bit.ly/kYOrv) Chris did of the Newcastle event in the excellent It's a Crime! (or aMystery) blog--including a picture of Our Fearless Leader, who looks like she's having a ball! :D Methinks the UK agrees with her very much indeed!
Thank you, Chris!

Wonderful report, Chris, and did you see that Mary Russell retweeted the mention of your blog with the link? Very cool and great reportage. :D

Thank you so much, Chris. I love it whenever LRKers lurk at major LRK events! It's so familial as well as being a big support for she, the main reason for LRKing! And pictures are more than frosting - it's like we all were there too. In fact, if anyone (VBCer) is deputized to attend an LRK event sans camera, please, let us know and we will see to it that you have one and can learn how to post the results. :)

Morning, Everyone!
Thank you all for your kind comments - very much appreciated! It really was a great evening, it felt like a relaxing time in someone's home (OK, that 'someone' would have had a REALLY big home, with their own library...!!)
It was also good to see that there are quite a few of us over on this side of the water and, speaking for myself, am grateful to Laurie for taking time to come and visit us; she writes great books AND has time for PAs in rather more remote areas of the world? (Well, a bit further than the Bay Area, anyway!)
Impatient that I am, I have on pre-order 'The Green Man', aka Untitled-As-Yet Number Ten. I hope Laurie manages to come back next year!
