Hello all, we were very fortunate that the only bookstore,a childrens bookstore, in town held a fair where three authors were in attendance. The first was Lisa Mangum whose first book out is called The Hourglass Door. I have just bought it and will read it soon. It is about a high school senior and a foreign exchange student, Dante Alexander. I also believe that time travel is involved from what I gathered from the conversations with the audience. I don't really have many details on what was talked about as I don't have reference from the book.
The other author was Brandon Mull who has written the Fablehaven series and The Candyshop Wars. He spoke a bit on the difficulties of becoming published but gave some advice on how to keep trying. Then he answered audience questions on the books and his inspirations. He spoke of how lucky he was to become published rather quickly and how much he enjoys writing and making up stories.
The third author was of a picture book and I wasn't around at that time.
I had Lisa Mangum's book autographed and my daughter had The Candyshop Wars autographed to her. It was a long wait for the autograph of Brandon Mull as we was also answering everyone's questions and many people had huge stacks of books for him to sign but we had patience and we also got a photo of him and my daughter but I am not posting that one.
Here are a couple of photos.
