I'm experiencing the same problem with this author as with Marcia Muller. Only a small number in the library, and on amazon.uk they unavailable or expensive.

The only 2 titles in my library are In the Bleak Midwinter, and Out of the Deep I Cry.
If anyone is able to get any other titles at charity shops ( you call them thrift or goodwill I think) or cheap secondhand copies I would be grateful. I am happy to refund postage via an international coupon or to find some British books to send as a swop.
I know the generous spirit of many on this board, and must emphasise that I don't want anyone to spend more than a small amount. But if someone sees a copy very cheaplyand can pass it on, that would be lovely.
Thanks in anticipation!

very grateful - but only what you happen to come across - no hurry!

Are you still looking for Marcia Muller, Annie? My office put together a book sale for charity this week and someone brought in a ton of Marcia Muller books. When I was able to look them up yesterday, it looks like we've got more of her later books (apparently she's up to like 15 Sharon McCone books or something?). But yeah, only 25 cents!

Annie, I can get A Fountain Filled with Blood, To Darkness and to Death, & I Shall Not Want at nominal cost. PM me your address and I'll send them.

For any fans of the Clare/Russ books I have inadvertently acquired a second copy of I Shall Not Want (remainder mark, 1st printing, VG condition). If anyone is interested please let me know and I will be happy to give it a new home! :)

John.

When I saw this thread I then realised that both tangential & Sheri had left messages for me about sending books that I hadn't seen!
You are both very kind and I see by the dates that it was the time that my father was very ill, then died, and my logs in to the board were sporadic.

I thank you very much for thinking of me.
I won't take up John's recent offer either for other reasons, but hope someone does.

Annie, you may still have books packed away, but when you check these authors out, let us know what you lack. Marcia Muller now has 26 Sharon McCone novels. I've just been rereading them. My evaluation is that the first five are good, simple mysteries with chief interest being San Francisco and her being employed by a poverty law firm. The next seven show increasing complexity and writing skill. They are all good. Starting with Wolf in the Shadows I think she moves to another level, managing a wonderful cast of characters and relationships. Some I like less well (While Other People Sleep, Dead Midnight) but they are all excellent.
